This was the year that my passion for lightning photography really started. However, I wasn't particularly good in watching out for storms. I may have gotten several, but only three got me outside to photograph. The photo on the left is a ground-to-cloud lightning (going up towards the cloud rather than down from the cloud to ground). It partly destroyed a radio transmitter and produced an impressive booming thunder, even though it was 5 miles distant.
