Chase report of today: a slight risk area lay over TX panhandle today. We (me and chase partner Bernard Hulshof) left motel in Amarillo, Texas, around noon for storms which formed near the NM/TX border. The storms were mostly unorganized. We targeted a storm near Hereford TX. This storm was not severe, but blew up lots of dust over the area. Photographed daytime CG and CC lightning near Dimmitt TX; then attempted to keep ahead of storm which moved at around 35 mph E. We witnessed a beautiful sunset through rain curtains, dust clouds and some lightning. The storm lost much of its electrical activity shortly after and we went home.
