What a night! This was the best storm night so far during the 2003 New Mexico monsoon season. It started in the afternoon with a few small thunderstorms over Socorro, New Mexico, which drifted west and dissipated. At sunset there was a nice rainbow. I then went back home, only to return to my vantage point about one hour later to shoot another storm in the twilight. That storm went on and on, but disappeared behind the mountain range to my west, so I decided to go chase the storms over Highway 60 west. I ended up about 10 miles past the town of Magdalena, and photographed nice lightning there. The problem was that I was standing next to a road, and every time a car passed by, I had to interrupt the exposures. There were about 5 or 6 good storms this evening.
