Have you ever enjoyed a fiery sunset and spotted an airplane flying into it, high overhead? If you did, I bet you were jealous, like me, of the people on board that aircraft for the view they would be having. This photo shows what it looks like up there while the sun is setting on cirrus. The next time you fly during the morning or evening hours, book yourself a window seat before or after the wing (and be amazed how few people actually enjoy the view!).
Photo taken on January 19, while flying westward over Texas (USA). The sunset lasted quite long since the airplane was following it, and I reseated myself several times to have a good view. Camera was Nikon D100 with 18-35mm f/4.5 Nikkor lens.
