Under certain conditions (a shearing in wind velocity with altitude) cumulus clouds may be arranged in "streets": bands of cumulus clouds which are parallel to the wind direction at that altitude. Cloud streets, if they form under the right conditions, can have a remarkable periodicity and symmetry. They can be seen well from an airplane, since you can look over a larger area from a plane at cruising altitude.
