A lowering of the cloud base, sometimes seen under a growing cumulus cloud like cumulus congestus or cumulonimbus. Tuba can be thought of as a small-scale wall cloud under a convective cloud or small storm. Sometimes, a tuba shows signs of rotation or other turbulence, and may give a first indication of something more ominous - a funnel cloud - about to lower out of the cloud.
