What are those icons for?

The icon you see in front of the "You are here:" navigation bar will change every month according to the seasons on the northern hemisphere. That is, around December and February you will see icons having to do with winter, and v.v. for summer around June-August.

Does this serve any purpose?

No! Like many other things on this site, this icon feature is completely useless. But it marks the navigation line, so I guess it does serve some small purpose...

However, it remains a mystery what all the icons look like. So, if you are desperate to find out what the 12 icons are, you either have to do something smart to figure most of them out, or revisit this site every month. :)
