This is a daytime lightning photo I made by quickly reacting to the lightning flash and pressing the camera release button in time. This day was Black Saturday for Holland (or was it White Saturday? -due to the hail). Parts of The Netherlands were pestered by 2 1/2 inch hailstones, and severe wind gusts. In my place, things were relatively quiet, except for some loud anvil-to-ground lightning bolts, out of the trailing stratiform region of the MCS. This photo shows of one of those CGs. Note the orange dot at the strike point - the lightning probably struck a tree.
