The Carlsbad Caverns are located in southeastern New Mexico, USA. The limestone cave system dates back to the Permian age. With over 100 caves, some very large, the Carlsbad Caverns are one of the biggest cave systems. The caves harbour spectacular limestone stalactites and stalagmites. There are many tours available, but only the Big Room is recommended for photography, as some trails are difficult to do when carrying anything but a flashlight.
